Wanted Murder Suspect Arrested in Pennsylvannia

On Sunday, September 4, 2011 Mineral County 911 received a report of a fight at My Place in Ridgeley, Mineral County, WV. The caller reported hearing screaming and gun shots. Upon arrival of officers it was learned there had been two shooting victims, Ryan Henry age 25 and Richard Henry age 23. Ryan Henry died of a single gunshot wound and Richard was critically injured with one gunshot wound to the face.

The Mineral County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Cumberland, Maryland C3I unit was able to identify and obtain warrants for three subjects: Rasshammach Roberts, Rasjahnon Roberts, and Tavon Kearney involved in the shooting of the Henry brothers charging them with First Degree Murder, Attempted First Degree Murder and Conspiracy to Commit Murder. A fourth suspect only known by a street name was also identified. Shortly after the warrants were obtained the fugitive investigation was turned over to the U.S. Marshal Services Mountain State Fugitive Task Force for apprehension.

Rasshammach Roberts slipped through law enforcements fingers and escaped the Hagerstown, Maryland and West Virginia area shortly after the homicide. The Task Force never gave up, its effort ending in an arrest. The
hunt for Rasshammach Roberts covered seven states and utilized the resources of multiple state and local agencies to assist the U.S. Marshal Service in locating him. Roberts was even recently aired on Americas Most Wanted (AMW) this past Friday.

Roberts was located on the 100 block of Old River Road in Wilkes-Barre, PA and arrested by members of a U.S. Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force. Roberts initially denied his identity but after he was fingerprinted he admitted to watching the AMW show on Friday.

Roberts remains in custody in Pennsylvania and awaits extradition to West Virginia to answer for his charges. Agencies involved in locating and arresting Rasshammach Roberts were the United States Marshals Service in West Virginia and Pennsylvania, Wilkes-Barre Police Department in Pennsylvania, West Virginia State Police, Allegheny County Combined Criminal Investigative Unit (C3I) in Cumberland Maryland, and the Mineral County Sheriffs Office.
Below is history of other fugitives arrested related to the case:

On September 16, 2011 members of the Mountain State Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Rasjahnon Roberts 27 of Queens New York at the Red Roof Inn in Williamsport, Maryland. Rasjahnon was charged as a fugitive from justice and extradited back to Mineral County, West Virginia.

On October 24, 2011 the Mountain State Fugitive Task Force and the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) were able to locate and arrest Tavon Kearney in Hampton, VA.

On November 7, 2011 the U.S. Marshals lead New York and New Jersey Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Taj Green in Jamaica, New York.
Green was identified as the fourth suspect by the coordinated efforts of the United States Marshals Service fugitive task forces in West Virginia and New York working with the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office.
