Fight Against Abuse Of Opioids Continues

In the past 2 ½ years the state of Maryland has spent approximately a half-billion dollars on the fight against heroin and opioid addiction. In March of this year the Hogan administration declared a state of emergency on the opioid crisis. Sadly however the latest statistics show that to date it’s been a losing battle as the number of arrests, overdoses and opioid related fatalities are all on the rise. House of Delegates 1C Mike McKay represents both Allegany and Washington counties- and has witnessed the devastation that has come to western Maryland.
