Allegany Co. Health Department Opens Sober Living Home

A state grant has enabled Allegany County to take another step forward in battling the growing heroin and opioid epidemic. The Allegany County Health Department has opened a sober living home, or halfway house, on Willowbrook Road, designed to help individuals in early recovery from substance abuse regain life skills and maintain sobriety.  The $500,000 grant on behalf of the Maryland Opioid Rapid Response (M.O.R.R.)​​​ initiative was awarded to both the Allegany County Health Department and the Western Maryland Health System.
