Allegany High School Bomb Threat

January 10th, 2013 by WCBC Radio

Law enforcement officers and canine units conducted a sweep of Allegany High School Wednesday night and the school will be in lock-in status after students enter the building today. This the result of a threatening message found written on a wall at the school on Monday indicating a bomb threat for Thursday, January 10th.  Ironically the message was discovered on the same day that a special meeting of the Board of Education, local law enforcement, the states attorney and legislative delegation was being held to discuss increasing the punishment for students found to have made a bomb threat. If deemed necessary, students may be searched and all backpacks or other bags checked upon entering the school this morning. Once the students have been cleared and sent to class- the school will be in lock-in status for the remainder of the day. There is no uniform policy statewide among public school systems when its comes to handling bomb threats-  with some systems dealing with each threat case by case. Delegate Kevin Kelly says that in his mind, any threat should automatically lead to a total evacuation…
