Area Law Enforcement Work 2 Day Warrant Initiative Making Numerous Arrests

On 11/26 and 11/27/19 The Cumberland Police Department in conjunction with the Allegany County Sheriffs Office and Maryland State Police Cumberland Barrack worked a two day warrant initiative focusing on wanted individuals throughout the City of Cumberland and Allegany County through the MCIN Grant. As a result of this initiative the following subjects were arrested on Grand Jury Indictments presented to the Grand Jury after investigations were completed by the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force:

-Sherry Jean James, 50yoa of Cumberland, One count Possession with Intent to Distribute and CDS Possession not marijuana

-Jill Nan Stepp, 46yoa of Cresaptown, Conspiracy with Intent to Distribute not marijuana and conspiracy to possess CDS.

-Titus Grant Strong, 40yoa of Cumberland, 4 counts CDS possession not marijuana, 3 counts CDS possession with intent to distribute, and 1 count of CDS possession Large amount.

-Acacia Louise Spencer, 22yoa, of LaVale, 2 counts CDS Possession not marijuana and 2 counts CDS Possession with intent to distribute.

-Harold Virgil James III, 29yoa of LaVale, 2 counts CDS Possession not marijuana, 2 counts CDS Possession with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.

-Gerald Jermaine Boyd, 23yoa of Cumberland, 2 counts CDS possession not marijuana, 2 counts CDS Possession with intent to distribute.

-Jason James Shingler, 42yoa, of Westernport, 2 counts CDS possession not marijuana, one count possession of marijuana over 10 grams, 2 counts CDS possession with intent to distribute, illegal possession of a firearm after being prohibited, illegal possession of a firearm after being convicted of a crime of violence, and illegal possession of ammunition.

A Grand Jury Summons was served on: Shawntay Gill, 46yoa of Frederick MD, CDS Possession not marijuana, CDS Possession with intent to Distribute narcotics, and CDS Possession of Paraphernalia.

The following Circuit Court Warrants were served on:

-Christopher Lee Shriver, 42yoa, of Frostburg, Violations of Presentence Release on an original charge of CDS possession not marijuana.

-Crystal Marie Vanmeter, 24yoa, of LaVale, Violation of Presentence Release on an original charge of CDS Distribution.

-Brianna Lee Lear, 23yoa, of Westernport, Violations of Presentence Release on an original charge of CDS Distribution.

-Holly Anne Gray Hamilton, 29yoa, of Cumberland, Violations of Presentence Release on an original charge of Burglary.

-Antonio Maurice Smith, 29yoa, of Cumberland, Violations of Presentence Release on an original charge of Obstructing and Hindering.

 

The following District Court/Out of State Fugitive warrants were served on:

-Krista Lea Kasecamp, 28yoa, of Cumberland, 2 Bench Warrants for Failure to Appear on an original charge of Theft.

-Stephanie Michele Faith, 32yoa, of Cumberland, Failure to Appear on Traffic charges.

-Michelle Lynn Ingrodi, 44yoa, of Frostburg, Violation of Probation on an original charge of Animal Cruelty

-Eric Thomas Johnson, 45 yoa, of Keyser, Violation of Probation on an original charge of Driving without a License.

-Shannon Eugenia Wilson, 35yoa, of Cumberland, Failure to Appear on an original charge of Assault Second Degree.

-Brian Thomas Bostancic, 30yoa, of Lonaconing, Violation of Probation on an original charge of Second Degree Assault and Destruction of Property.

-Curtis Lester Hamilton Jr, 30yoa, of Cumberland 3 warrants total charging him with Fraud with intent to avoid prosecution, Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, and Assault Second Degree.

-Eric William Thomas, 51 yoa, of Cumberland, 2 Bench Warrants for Failing to Appear on an original charge of Disorderly Conduct.

-Kate Lynn Guthrie, 30yoa, of Cumberland, Fugitive from Justice

-Jason Elijah Bethune, 35yoa, of Hagerstown MD, Fugitive from Justice from Virginia on charges of Assault, Malicious Injury, Hit and Run, Destruction of Property, and Aggressive Driving.

This initiative was a coordinated effort between the Cumberland Police Department, Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, and the Maryland State Police Cumberland Barrack under the Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network (MCIN). The Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention (GOCCP) provides grant funding and strategic support to MCIN member sites to identify, disrupt, and dismantle criminal organizations through inter-agency collaboration and data sharing to make Maryland safer.

    The liat is very disheartening. We need to pray that people use better judgement. God gave us a free will and therefore can’t intercept those plans. However, we can pray that God shows them the light. Happy Thanksgiving to Cumberland. You deserve people who really want to live here in peace and harmony.

    There are Always ALOT of Failure to Appears. .. From unfortunate personal experiences with family members, I’ve witnessed FTA’s occurring due to COURT Clerical Errors~ This should be evaluated to find a way to prevent this because it’s a waste of resources, tax dollars, officers, etc. .. and the problems created for the offenders!
