At this weekend's Maryland state wrestling tournament, the Maryland Wrestling Hall of Fame inducted Brian Davis, a 1985 graduate of Beall High School. While at Beall, Davis compiled a career record of 102-4, winning two state titles in 1984 and 1985. Davis was also a member of three Maryland Small School State Championship teams in 1982, 1983, and 1984 under Hall of Fame coach Gary Davis. 

Continuing his wrestling career in the United State Marine Corps, Davis was names to the All-Marine Wrestling Team in 1988 and 1989, posting two bronze medals at the Interservice Championships. He also was a 1988 Greco-Roman Wrestling Olympic Trial participant and a member of two National GR Championship teams, as well as two Interservice Championship teams in 1988 and 1989. 

A 1995 graduate of West Liberty State College, Brian Davis compiled a career record 99-17-1 wrestling under Hall of Fame coach Dr. Vince Monseau., and was named West Liberty’s first four-time All-American. He won the 1994 NAIA National Champion at 177 lbs, was a member of the 1995 NAIA National Runner-up team, and was inducted into West Liberty Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005.

Davis also coached both at the high school and collegiate levels, head coach at Fort Hill High School in 1996 and 1997, Carrolton High School in Ohio from 1997-2003 (named 1999 Ohio Eastern District Coach of the Year), and Buckeye Local High School in Ohio from 2003-2007- coaching numerous state and national champions, state placers, and All-Americans. At the college level, he was the West Liberty University Head Coach 2007-2015, producing five Top 20 team finishes at the NCAA Division II National Tournament, coaching nine NCAA Division II All-Americans- including a National Champion and two National Runner-ups. In addition, 38 of his wrestlers were selected for the NWCA All-Academic Team during his eight seasons.

He is also currently helping at Mountain Ridge High School where he has been an assistant coach since the 2016-2017 season.
