The search for 14 year old Jonathon Benjamin Adams has come to a close.
According to the Hampshire County Sheriff's Office, at approximately 11:20am Saturday, investigators located a shallow grave containing a set of human remains, believed to be that of Adams, pending an autopsy at the WV Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, in Charleston, WV. The remains were located in a heavily wooded area, near the location the victim was reported missing last Sunday morning. The area of the recovery was extremely difficult to access due to heavy underbrush.
A 16 year old relative has been arrested and charged with burglary. Investigators have developed a suspect in the death of Adams. The investigation still continues into the events surround the child’s death. More information will be released as it becomes available. Our thoughts and prayers are with Johnny’s loved ones during this difficult time.
