Canal Place Officials Continue Moving Forward With Plans For River Park

Canal Place officials have been moving forward with plans for a river park at the confluence of the North Branch of the Potomac River and Wills Creek- and a public presentation on what the project will look like is set for early next month.  The proposed park will have kayak and canoe access, whitewater features, a walking trail and viewing area. The concept was first discussed more than a decade ago but had fallen to the backburner in recent years. That has changed however with the Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority taking the lead in the past two years- rebuilding momentum. Executive Director Dee Dee Ritchie is hoping for a large turnout for the November public session….
