On Friday, August 14th, 2020 the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on Nicholas Cody Chamberlain. The warrant was issued by District Court in reference to an incident the occurred back on April 24th, 2020 at a Broadway Street residence. On that date, officers responded to the report of a stolen motor vehicle. When they arrived, contact was made with a female victim who stated that Chamberlin took her 2007 Jeep Liberty without permission. He was charged with unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent, taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, unauthorized removal of a motor vehicle, and theft. Chamberlain was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was released on his own personal recognizance pending trial.
