City of Cumberland Reminds Residents of Online Payment Options

September 10th, 2021 by WCBC Radio

The City of Cumberland’s Tax and Utility Office is urging residents to utilize the City’s online options for receiving and paying utility bills. The City’s online billing portal (https://cumberlandmd.authoritypay.com) allows customers to receive their bill by email every month, alleviating any concern of lost or delayed mail. Once received, customers log in to pay their bill online, ensuring the payment is received, and eliminating the need for postage. The online portal enables residents to:
 View and Print your Bill
 Pay your Bill Online
 View your History and Usage
The City also offers Automatic Electronic Bill Payment – an automatic
bank draft made on the due date every month, eliminating late fees, mail
delays and postage costs. The form can be downloaded here:
Electronic-Utility-Payment-Application-PDF?bidId=). Alternatively, the
form can be requested by calling the Tax and Utility Office. Customers
will still receive a monthly bill showing the amount due and the payment
date, but paperless billing can be requested when setting up Automatic
Electronic Bill Payment.
To avoid mail delays, customers may also call the Office of Tax and Utility
at 301-759-6409 to make a one-time payment by phone using Visa,
Mastercard or Discover.
Payments can also be accepted through any of these alternatives:
 Placed in the drop box outside City Hall, 1st floor
 Drive-by drop box at Chamber of Commerce Bell Tower in City Hall
plaza
 Mailed to 57 N. Liberty Street, Cumberland, MD 21502
Additional questions should be directed to the Office of Tax & Utility at
301-759-6409.
