Last month, Brenda Friend, the longtime executive director of the Greater Cumberland Committee announced that she was stepping down to pursue a job opportunity outside of the area- and a search for her replacement will begin in earnest in the near future. In the interim, former director Colleen Peterson has agreed to serve. Now in its 18th year, The Greater Cumberland Committee is a not-for-profit, member-based organization of 80 civic and business leaders representing three states and multiple counties on long-term economic development projects of regional relevance.
