Commissioners Hear First Of A Weekly Series Of Budget Presentations

The Allegany County Commissioners heard from a wide array of departments and agencies Thursday in the first of a weekly series of budget presentations- and while the majority are holding the line, and in most cases seeking less funding- how county funds are allocated remain very much unknown at this point. Each Thursday in March the commissioners will listen to brief presentations from each entity that is county funded- and yesterday those included the States Attorney’s Office; Canal Place; the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad, HRDC and Tourism. During the initial presentations, County Administrator David Eberly asked those seeking county dollars not to expect any immediate answers, and local governments await the final general assembly numbers in Annapolis…
