CPD Makes Assault & Intoxicated Public Disturbance Arrests

On December 15, 2019, officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 20 block of N. Lee Street for a check on well being.  Officers responding had been advised that an assault had possibly occurred at that residence.  When officers arrived they contacted the victim and observed injuries consistent with being assaulted. Officers investigating the incident were able to determine that the victim was assaulted by James Milton, age 26 of Cumberland, Maryland. Consequently, Milton was placed under arrest and charged with 2nd degree assault and reckless endangerment. 

Milton was later provided his Initial Appearance in District Court, and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bail.  

 

On December 15, 2019, officers responded to a business on Queen City Drive for a check on well being.  When officers arrived they contacted Paul Harman, age 37 of Cumberland.  Harman was intoxicated and advised that he needed to leave the property.  Harman began creating a disturbance inside the business and failed to comply when officers asked him to stop.  Consequently, Harman was placed under arrest and charged with intoxicated public disturbance and fail to obey. 

Harman was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center, and was still awaiting his Initial Appearance at the time of the press release.
