On February 20, 2021 at 4:00 pm, the Cumberland City Police responded to the 200 block of Decatur Street for an assault.
When units arrived, they spoke with the victim who explained the events, and further found evidence consistent with an assault occurring. Furthermore, officers learned of another assault had occurred to a child during a previous incident. Officers later located the suspect identified as Jeremy Pifer, age 34 of Cumberland, and he was placed under arrest.
A search subsequent to Pifer’s arrest revealed a quantity of CDS on his person. Consequently, Pifer was charged with two counts of assault second degree, child abuse second degree, CDS possession large amount, and two counts of CDS possession not marijuana. Pifer was later taken for his Initial Appearance, and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.
