Cumberland Police investigate assault; respond to crash

On January 6th, 2020, The Cumberland City Police responded to the first block of Pennsylvania Ave in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, Officers contacted a female victim. The victim alleged that she and a male subject were involved in an argument inside the home. The argument escalated and the female was assaulted by the male. As a result of the investigation, Eric Brewer, age 47, of Cumberland MD, was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Assault. Brewer was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently awaiting an Initial Appearance with a District Court Commissioner.

 

Arrested:  Eric Brewer           Age: 47,    Cumberland, MD.

Charges:  Second Degree Assault

 

***Motor Vehicle Crash***

On January 6th, 2020, the Cumberland City Police responded to the area of East Industrial Blvd and Pennsylvania Ave for the report of a motor vehicle crash with injuries. Upon officers arrival on scene, it was learned that a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt operated by Devon Lee Iser, age 19, of Fort Ashby WV, had lost control and traveled off the roadway. The vehicle overturned and came to rest over an embankment. Two passengers inside the vehicle were transported to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center and treated for non-life threatening injuries. At this time the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

    Police Make Assault!?!

    Either CPD or ACPS need investigated and I suspect it is the latter.

    The assault dude has been arrested no less than 50 previous times, yes no less than 50 times. Cut him loose again??? Anyone else see a pattern?
