Cumberland Woman Facing Attempted Murder Charges

Officers responded to a residence on Arch St. for a report of a domestic assault.  Upon their arrival they made contact with Natoshua Garlitz who advised that she had been arguing with her boyfriend and it has turned physical off and on throughout the day.  At some point in the arguing and fighting Garlitz obtained a handgun.  The victim advised that when the gun was displayed Garlitz discharged one round in his direction that went into the cabinet.  The bullet went through the cabinet and lodged into the wall.  The victim advised that after the shot was fired he was able to wrestle the handgun from her.  He was then able to get the gun unloaded and they continued to argue until officers arrived.  Garlitz stated that she was pistol whipped with the gun but officers didn’t observe injuries to her.  Officers did observe injuries to the male victim.   A witness to the incident confirmed that Garlitz did have the gun during all of this.  The witness got between them at one point to separate them when Garlitz had the gun and a short time later the witness heard the shot.  Garlitz was placed under arrest and transported to PH where she was charged and processed.

Charges: Att. 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Possession of Firearm during a violent crime, Att. 1st degree murder, Att 2nd Degree murder

Garlitz was taken for a Bond Hearing and held in the ACDC without Bond.
