Dead body located at Fort Cumberland Homes, victim was shot

On Saturday evening at 7:19 PM the Cumberland Police responded to a private residence in Building 12 of Fort Cumberland Homes after receiving a call about a deceased person located there. When first responding officers arrived there they discovered the body of 25 year old Antonio Maurice Rollins, who has addresses in both Red Lion, Pennsylvania and Baltimore, Maryland, on the floor of the kitchen. CPD officers contacted the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I) and requested assistance with the investigation into the circumstances.


            C3I Investigators responded to the scene. Based on initial observations, Investigators obtained a search warrant for the residence. The scene was processed by Evidence Collection Technicians with the Maryland State Police Forensic Science Division, and several items of a suspicious nature were seized at that time.


            The victim's body was transported to the Maryland State Medical Examiner's Office in Baltimore for an autopsy. The autopsy revealed that the victim had died as a result of a gunshot to the back of the head from a small caliber firearm.


            The investigation is continuing by the Cumberland Police and C3I.
