Dr. Sean McCagh Passes After COVID Battle

Dr. Sean McCagh, a local dermatologist who became a community champion for the developmentally disabled through his founding of The Hooley Plunge, died this morning after a courageous battle with COVID-19.

Dr. McCagh was 60 years old.

The Hooley Plunge made the announcement on its Facebook page:

"Our hearts are broken to share that our friend and founder of the Hooley Plunge, Dr. Sean McCagh passed away this morning from his battle with COVID. Sean was so many things to so many people. He loved his family, his patients, and his community. Without Sean, there would have never been a Hooley Plunge. We are all better off for having known Dr. Sean McCagh. Please keep his family in your prayers."

According to the Western Maryland Dermatology website, Dr. McCagh had a BS in Biology from Mount Saint Mary’s College and Masters in Physiology from Georgetown University.  Dr. McCagh graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1992.  He completed his medical internship at Washington Hospital Center in 1993.  Dr. McCagh finished his Dermatology Residency as Chief Resident at the Robert C. Byrd School of Health Sciences, West Virginia University Medical Center in 1996.
