Franchot Dismisses Popular Notion Of “One Maryland”

Far from a traditional politician, Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot has developed a reputation as some what of a maverick during his time as the state’s chief fiscal officer. He has frequently clashed with Governor Martin O’Malley over a wide range of issues- and can never be seen as a rubber stamp bureaucrat as he has represented the voice of opposition many times during Board of Public Works meetings. During a recent stop in Allegany County, Franchot was quick to dismiss the popular notion of “One Maryland”.
