Man Arrested After Causing Multiple Disturbances

On August 23rd, 2021, The Cumberland City Police Department responded to the 30 block of Baltimore St for the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers located two male subjects involved in a verbal altercation. Officers ordered both to cease their disruptive behavior. One of the subjects, Woodrow Matthew Dean, 63, of Cumberland MD, refused to comply after several orders had been given, As a result, Dean was placed under arrest. He was issued a Criminal Citation for disorderly conduct and released. He was also advised to cause no further disturbances.

Later in the day, Officers responded to the 200 block of Decatur St for another report of a disturbance. Once on scene, Officers observed Dean involved in a verbal disturbance with numerous individuals in the area which included multiple vehicles stopped in the street. As a result, Dean was again placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held on $2,500 bond.
