Man Assaults Teacher With Bat

June 7th, 2014 by WCBC Radio

WBAL reports a 15-year-old Perry Hall High School student's father struck the girl's teacher with a bat after her mother found text messages sent back and forth between the girl and the teacher, a 42-year-old man.

"The girl's father told the officer that the girl's teacher — the same teacher who had sent the texts — had just showed up  at this home without permission, saying he wanted to talk. The girl's father told the teacher to leave, but the teacher refused. The girl's father then struck the teacher with a baseball bat. The teacher and the father gave slightly different versions of the assault, which did not occur in the presence of the officer," the Baltimore County Police report says.

The officer viewed several dozen texts and found that they described an emotional relationship that seemed inappropriate for a teacher and student.

Police did not find that a crime had been committed.

The teacher sustained minor injuries, police say. He said he did not wish to pursue charges.

The officer advised the teacher that he would be arrested if he returned  to the family's home.

The officer also advised the girl's family of the process for applying for a protective order.

Names will not be released since there was no charge…
