Maryland Politicians React To Trump’s Vulgar Remarks, Trump Denies Comments

WBAL reports that after President Donald Trump used profanity toward Haiti and Africa, calling them s___hole countries, Maryland politicians are speaking out. 

Mayor Catherine Pugh tweeted a brief statement Thursday night, saying she is "appalled" by the comments. 

 

 

 

Sens. Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen also took to social media to express their thoughts.

 

 

 

 

 

Trump made the comments Thursday in the Oval Office as lawmakers described details of a bipartisan compromise that would protect some immigrants and strengthen border protections. 

 

 

 

Trump took to Twitter Friday morning to discuss his Thursday comments. 

 

 

 

Trump also weighed in on DACA. 

 

 

 

 

 

When asked about the President's remarks, White House spokesman Raj Shah did not deny them on Thursday.

Sen. Dick Durbin, who was in the meeting with Trump on Thursday, confirmed to MSNBC that the president made hate-filled comments.
