The state of Maryland surpassed the 300,000 COVID-19 case threshold on Saturday, with more than 3,700 new cases reported.
According to state health department data, 3,758 cases were added over a 24-hour period, bringing the total to 303,364. 28 new deaths also were reported, increasing Maryland's total to 6,075.
Hospitalizations decreased slightly on Saturday, one day after the state set a record for the number of people hospitalized, with 1,877 patients in Maryland hospitals.
The state’s calculation of the positivity rate was essentially unchanged at 9.16%.
