Middle School Renovations Put On Backburner

Major renovations for both Braddock and Washington Middle schools will once again be put on the backburner in order to advance the new Allegany High School project.  The board received an update on the system’s capital projects list at a special meeting Thursday afternoon.  Vince Montana, Director of Facilities said the renovations for the two Cumberland middle schools could be pushed back as much as a decade.  Its not a total loss however as the roofs at both schools will be replaced in the coming years.  Board member Ed Root called it a common sense approach, noting that there is no way state or local dollars for multi major projects would be available…
