Next Steps In Wayne Foote Case Could Happen In Short Order

Although the overall process could take the better part of the year or longer-  indications are the next step in the case against Allegany County Board of Education member Wayne Foote could happen in very short order. According to William Reinhard, spokesman for the Maryland State Board of Education, Foote’s response to the charges issued earlier this month by the state has been received. It has now been confirmed that an administrative law judge could schedule a hearing by the end of the month.  Just last week the state, in response to a request from the Allegany County School Board, issued charges against Foote of misconduct in office, including alleged incidents of sexual misconduct and intimidation. Even if the initial hearing does occur in the near future- the process after that involves a final decision by the state board and allows for Foote to ultimately appeal to the Circuit Court. In one of the few lengthy interviews on the subject Foote has given since the local board initiated the action in December, he maintained that the accusations are greatly overblown and were politically motivated as a reaction to his winning re-election in November…
