One Dead in Clear Spring Fire

The State Fire Marshal's Western Regional Office is currently investigating a fatal fire in Clear Spring that occurred Sunday evening. 

At 11:30 p.m., the Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Company reported to a mobile home fire at 13102 Goldizen Lane, which originated in the kitchen area. A female occupant awoke to the smoke alarm, witnessed the flames, and safely evacuated. A male occupant was injured in his attempt to extinguish the fire and was transported to The Burn Center at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.

After 45 minutes, the nearly 60 firefighters on scene were able to extinguish the blaze. A second male occupant was discovered deceased in the rear bedroom. Identities of those involved will not be released until the investigation has concluded. The total damage of the mobile home is estimated at $125,000. The preliminary cause of the fire remains under investigation.
