On April 9^th, 2020 officers of the Cumberland Police Department served an Arrest Warrant on Jacob Lee Haines. The Warrant was issued by the District Court of Maryland due to an incident that occurred on April 8^th. During the incident officers responded to a Race Street address for a reported harassment. Upon officers arrival they spoke to a victim who stated that Haines had made threats towards them and would not stop contacting them. While speaking with the victim officers were notified of a subject being chased with a baseball bat in the 100 block of Memorial Avenue by Haines. Officers arrived to the area and spoke with the second victim who advised that Haines had been chasing them and advised that he was still in the area. Officers spoke  with Haines who advised that he had been threatened and was trying to defend himself by using a baseball bat. Haines directed officers to several witnesses, and advised that they had observed the entire incident. Officers spoke with witnesses in the area and were informed that they did not observe Haines to be threatened, but did observe him to chase the victim with a baseball bat.  Haines was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was released on his own recognizance.

Jacob Lee Haines, age 31, Cumberland Maryland.

Charges: Dangerous weapon intent to injure, assault second degree, disturbing the peace, harassment, and disorderly conduct.
