Revenues down at Rocky Gap Casino

December 13th, 2013 by WCBC Radio

Rocky Gap Casino Resort’s income had reduced revenue from gaming operations last month, but
money coming into the county from the casino is already having an impact on the county budget.
Income from slot machines and poker tables increased in November compared to October at Rocky Gap, while
income from other table games was slightly reduced. The income information was released by the Maryland Lottery and
Gaming Control Agency. Rocky Gap had revenue of $3,328,658 from both slot machines and table games in November. The gross take per unit.  per day was $170.49 for slot machines, $1,456.55 for table games and $418.69 for poker games. Rocky Gap Casino Resort operates 558 slot machines and 13 table games, the agency reported. In October, those numbers were $166.84 for slot machines, $1,599.17 for other table games and $369.24 for poker tables.
Allegany County’s share of the taxes on that revenue is already being put to use. The county plans to establish a
scholarship fund and will soon formalize other uses for the money coming in from the casino.
