School clothing vouchers available for Mineral County

July 8th, 2017 by WCBC Radio

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources Division of Family Assistance has begun accepting applications for school clothing vouchers. The program serves children enrolled in West Virginia schools. Each eligible child will receive a $200 voucher that can be used either for purchasing clothing or for piece goods, for families who choose to sew clothing for their children instead of buying it. Families with school-aged children who already receive WV WORKS cash assistance automatically will receive vouchers for each child in their home by the middle of the month. Other families also are eligible for the program, as long as their monthly income is no higher than $2,050. The DHHR’s figure is based on families of four.
