Search for Kirby’s Replacement Begins in Frostburg

The search to find a replacement for longtime Frostburg City Administrator John Kirby is now underway in earnest-  with city officials hoping  to have a new administrator named by the April 18. Kirby’s contracts with the city were based on a series of three-year renewals- and his tenure is set to end with his retirement on June 30th.  Mayor Roger Flanigan, Finance Commissioner Donny Carter and City Attorney Michael Cohen have formed a search committee to find Kirby’s successor.  Interviews are expected to take place the second week of March and conclude by the end of that month. Some of the requirements for the position include a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration or a related field.  Kirby tells WCBC News that after 40 years as a public servant- the last 15 in Frostburg- it is time to pass the torch…
