State Lawmakers To The East Criticized

Western Maryland in recent years has received a great deal of attention from down state lawmakers- unfortunately all too often their intentions could end up hurting the region more than benefitting it. Whether it be an attempt to ban hydraulic fracturing for natural gas; repealing the coal tax credit- or even changing the name of one of the regions mountains- lawmakers to the east have made it a habit to get involved in seemingly local matters in recent years. Speaking at last week’s regular meeting, Allegany County Commissioner Creade Brodie Jr bashed those downtown lawmakers for what he believes meddling in matters that should not be their concern…
