Suspect Photos Released In Washington County Gun Heist

State and federal authorities are releasing surveillance photos from a Washington County gun store burglary as part of ongoing efforts to identify the suspects responsible and recover the more than one dozens firearms stolen last weekend.

The burglary at the Clear Spring Gun Shop in the 14000-block of National Pike, Clear Spring, Md., occurred shortly before 3:00 a.m. on September 23, 2017.  Surveillance video shows two suspects entering the store and stealing the handguns that were taken.  The suspects were wearing masks and gloves. 

Both suspects are believed to be males and both were wearing masks.  One suspect was wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt, what appear to be latex gloves, dark pants with a white or metal belt, and black shoes with reflective material.  He was carrying a black handgun and a red bag.  The other suspect was wearing a sweatshirt, gloves and also carried a red bag. 

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the National Shooting Sports Foundation continue to offer a combined reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the theft of firearms from the Clear Spring Gun Shop.  Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Sergeant Sigmund or Senior Trooper James Bowers of the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division at 301-766-3839, or the ATF 24/7 hotline at 1-888-ATF-TIPS (1-888-283-8477) or send an email to ATFTips@atf.gov.  Citizens can also send a text anonymously via the ReportIt® mobile app, available through www.reportit.com, using the ATF Baltimore Field Division as the location.
