On 12/3, Troopers from the Maryland State Police Cumberland Barrack were on patrol in the Cresaptown area of Winchester Road conducting routine traffic enforcement.  During one of the traffic stops, a 1991 Toyota 4 Runner, operated by Joshua Tyler Moore of Keyser, WV was stopped for a speed violation.  During contact with Moore and his front seat passenger, Kayla Danielle Perkins, of LaVale, troopers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle.  A probable cause search was conducted of the vehicle resulting in 63.7 grams of suspected marijuana being seized. A small baggie was also located inside of Perkins pocket containing 3.6 grams of suspected marijuana.  Additionally, drug paraphernalia with suspected marijuana residue was located inside of the center console of the vehicle.

Both subjects were transported to the Barrack for processing with the assistance of the C3I Narcotics Task Force Personnel. Perkins was issued a civil citation for possession of marijuana under 10 grams. Moore was charged with possession of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana based on the weight and packaging.  The Narcotics Task Force confiscated $440.00 in currency from Moore along with his Apple iPhone 5.  Perkins Samsung cell phone was also confiscated.
