Cumberland native and World War II hero Irvin “Butch” Johnson was presented with the French Legion of Honor Chevalier yesterday afternoon at Devlin Manor Nursing Home.
One of the speakers was District 1C Delegate Mike McKay…
The honor is the highest that can be given to a non-citizen and recognizes Johnson for his exemplary service in securing the freedom of France in 1944.
