YMCA Lowering Rates

June 14th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

We’re making it easier for you, your family, and the community to be healthier and enjoy what the Y has to offer, “ shares Don Enterline, CEO. New more affordable membership rates start in July.

Our new rates will impact all members – new and current ones — as we value and support a healthy community.” he says. A family membership which includes up to 2 adults and any dependents is $49 per month. An adult membership (35-64 years) is $39 a month. Young adults (18-34 years) pay $19 each month. Adults 65 years or older are charged $35/month. A teen membership covers ages 13-17 and is $15 monthly while a Kids Pass (12 & under) is $79 per year.

Consistent with our intent of helping our community, financial assistance is available for those individuals who qualify based on household income, and our wide selection of health, wellness, and family time opportunities will benefit many residents,” said Enterline.

Popular activities continue this summer for all ages and several new programs are being launched. Under the new pricing strategy, members will pay significantly less than non members for these activites.

A Y membership includes FREE admission to the Constitution Park Pool. Pool enthusiasts can also use the Y’s two indoor pools on Kelly Road in Cumberland.

The Y Dance program has experienced incredible growth and will expand at its new location on 1068 National Highway starting mid-July. The summer dance schedule began on June 11 and space is available for dancers of all ages to join the fun.

Children can be enrolled in a variety of sports. Clinics are conducted for basketball, soccer and floor hockey. A new Girls’ Middle School Outdoor Soccer League is starting and the Y continues to operate a youth summer swim team.

For those interested in dance or drama, this summer will feature the Just Me and the Music Summer Dance Intensive; and To Be or Not To Be Theatre Workshop. Camps start as early as June 15 and continue throughout the summer months.

The Y also provides licensed child care in a fun, camp-like setting for first through eighth grade students. One week camps or those expanding the whole summer inspire kids to work together, play together and create friendships that can last a lifetime.

Join the YMCA for a summer-long family bike program on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. Whether you are new to biking or a seasoned cyclist, the Y will take care of everything: equipment, guides, guest speakers and snacks!
