Congresswoman April McClain Delaney has introduced the Food Bank Emergency Support Act designed to safeguard Americans’ access to food during any future lapse in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program funding. This legislation strengthens the nation’s hunger-relief network by doubling Emergency Food Assistance Program funding to fill the emergency gap when SNAP experiences lapses in funding. The Maryland Food Bank has endorsed the bill.
