Maryland is one of only four states that does not allow alcohol sales in grocery stores. Baltimore City Delegate Marlon Amprey is out to change that. He will be introducing legislation in January to legalize beer and wine sales at grocers – the Alcoholic Beverages Modernization Act. Cailey Locklair of the Maryland Retailers Alliance says 80% of Marylanders support the bill….
“Every time a Maryland family crosses that border to shop, we don’t just lose their beer and wine sales, we lose their entire grocery basket. We lose sales tax revenue. We lose spending that should be supporting Maryland jobs and Maryland communities.”
