Founder of D’Atri’s Sub Shop Passes

The founder of D’Atri Subs has passed away.  Robert “Bob” D’Atri died Saturday at the age of 86.  D’Atri was born in McKeesport, PA, and graduated from Fort Hill High School, later working at Kelly Springfield Tires.  In 1970, he and his wife Rosemary founded D’Atri Subs on Columbia Street.  Bob opened D’Atri’s Restaurant in Lavale in 1976 and later Fratelli’s in lower Lavale and then Patrick’s Pub in Cumberland.  Visitation will be held Sunday, November 2, from noon to 3 p.m. at Scarpelli Funeral Home on Virginia Ave. A memorial service will immediately follow, beginning at 3 p.m., with Pastor Bruce McBride officiating.
