Frostburg Not Considering Student Tax

What appears to be a first-of-its-kind tax has hit students at the University of Delaware. The city of Newark is assessing the university a tax of $50 for each student, saying the college needs to do more to help cover service costs. The tax will generate almost $2 million dollars.  That likely won’t be happening locally. WCBC reached out to Frostburg Mayor Todd Logsdon for his take on the student tax…

   

“We have a good working relationship as far as government goes. I mean we share police resources. They allow us to use facilities a lot of times for training for police and fire activity and things like that. The last thing we want to do is try and sour that relationship by trying to get involved with money, adding fees or anything like that.”
