When plans were first announced that Union Rescue Mission would relocate to the former High Point Furniture building at Franklin and North Centre Streets, there were those in the neighborhood that had concerns about safety for property and children in the area. The mission’s Andrea Ziler said a neighbor took a tour of the mission and was pleasantly surprised. “She was extremely impressed with how everything was laid out; very thankful that she took the time to come because I believe that the neighborhood was nervous. But once she got to come see who we are, the people that were inside, the way the building is secure, that it just gave her relief to know that this was a good move.”
