Sports Books Add $7 Million In Taxes For July

Sports bettors in Maryland wagered $365 million dollars on events in July, winning back $319.5 million. Those bets brought the State of Maryland over $7 million in tax revenue. Sports wagering operators pay 15% of their taxable proceeds to the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund which supports public education programs. Another 5% goes to the state’s General Fund.  In July, the Blueprint Fund received $5.4 million dollars.
