Maryland US Senator Chris Van Hollen reported on his recent trip to Gaza to observe humanitarian support in the area. He and Oregon Senator Jeff Merkely said they observed delays in food being distributed, resulting in areas of starvation. He also said Palestinians are being pushed off their lands in what he calls ethnic cleansing in slow motion and the US needs to be the leader in ending the conflict…
“Partnership has to be a two-way street. It’s not like a one-way road. And the United States has interests in bringing an end to this horrible conflict and bringing the hostages home. We have strategic interests, we have moral interests as a country that says we stand up for human rights around the world.”
