The ribbon was cut on phase one of the Willowbrook Outdoor Wellness Center in November and plans are advancing for phase two of the outdoor recreation project  located next to Allegany College of Maryland. At a recent county commissioner work session, county engineer Dan Dewitt said care needs to be taken on the timeline for development of the planned playing field so it doesn’t disappoint the public…

“We’re trying to avoid the scenario where you show up and you have a beautiful turf field, but then there’s three porta-pots and a gravel parking lot and it doesn’t support hundreds of people using it. So, we want to be mindful of having a good field and then also having the infrastructure around it to support having large crowds there to try and make this something we can use to attract people.”
