The Allegany County Commissioners voted Thursday evening to approve a contract with DelFest that is said to keep the festival at the County Fairgrounds for the next five years.
That agreement is slated to be signed by the McCoury Family on November 3rd at a public event sponsored by WCBC Radio.
Following the vote, Commission President Jake Shade took fellow Commissioner Bill Valentine to task. Shade accused Valentine of misrepresenting the position of county staff and Shade, himself, to DelFest representatives and said Valentine owed the citizens of the county an apology. Valentine said that Shade did not have his facts straight and that the two should meet in private.
Commissioner Creade Brodie Jr said that sometimes things get blown out of proportion by misinformation on both sides and urged his fellow commissioners to repair the rift.
