On April 12, 2018 at approximately 3:53 PM a Cumberland Police officer observed Garrett Brooks Carnefix inside a business in the 100 block of Mechanic Street. The officer knew Carnefix had been previously barred from the business. The officer made contact with Carnefix and placed him under arrest for Trespassing. Further investigation revealed Carnefix was in possession of stolen items from a business from the 700 block of Park Street. Carnefix was additionally charged with Theft Less than $100. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner for a bond hearing where he was held on $500. He was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center pending his next appearance in District Court.
