On January 4th, 2024, The Cumberland Police Department responded to the UPMC Western Maryland hospital on Willowbrook Rd for the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers contacted both medical and security personnel. Officers were advised that a male subject, identified as Eric Roger Marmaduke, 54, of Hagerstown MD, had been creating a disturbance in the facility, cursing at and threatening staff. Officers then made contact with the subject who immediately became confrontational with officers. Marmaduke refused multiple requests from officers to leave the crowded waiting area to which he was disturbing. When officers attempted to place Marmaduke under arrest, he began to resist officers, striking one of them. After a brief struggle, Marmaduke was able to be taken into custody. Marmaduke was taken to Police Headquarters for processing. At this time, Marmaduke is being held at the Allegany County Detention Center Central Booking Unit where he awaits his Initial Appearance.
