Downtown parking woes was one of the topics discussed by Cumberland Mayor Ray Morriss on the Dave Norman show recently.
One of the ideas to improve the situation is blocks of spaces in the George Street parking garage for businesses to rent monthly for their employees, freeing up spaces in front merchants in the downtown area.
Mayor Morriss voiced his frustration over downtown business employees taking prime parking spots in front of businesses, preventing customers from parking. The topic is on the agenda for this week’s Mayor and Council meeting.
