Ellerslie Volunteer Fire Company top winner at this year's 11th annual Thomas Automotive Wing-Off and Music Festival held at the Allegany County Fairgrounds Saturday. Ellerslie won three awards, Best Booth, Best Overall wing and Hottest wing. You certainly cannot have a Wiing-off music festival without a wing eating contest… Cumberland City Councilman Jimmy Furstenberg winning the wing eating competition. Coming in at second place, a local downtown Cumberland restaurant at 114 South Centre Street… Mezzos winning two awards for Most Unique wing and Best Dry Rub. The event was hosted by the Western Maryland Jaycees and featured country music performers Kentucky Headhunters, Confederate Railroad, Drew Parker and Gary Allan.
