Hearing Scheduled By MD Public Service Commission On Dan’s Mountain Wind Farm To Be Held Locally

March 2nd, 2020 by WCBC Radio

A hearing scheduled by the Maryland Public Service Commission for March 4 in Baltimore on the proposed Dan’s Mountain Wind Farm has been canceled with the PSC announced that it will selected a new date for the hearing with the anticipation being that it will be held locally.  The Dan’s Mountain Wind Farm project calls for the installation of 17 wind turbines on the ridgeline of Dan’s Mountain. The hearing could be a key moment in the controversial case that has pitted proponents of the wind farm against a citizens group known as Allegany Neighbors and Citizens for Home Owners Rights Limited, or ANCHOR. The proposed wind farm includes placing 17 turbines on the ridgeline of Dan’s Mountain near the communities of Midland and the Harwood Subdivision, along with Vale Summit, Cresaptown and Bel Air. While technically the Allegany County Commissioners have no say in any decision regarding the proposed wind farm- Darlene Park, ANCHOR president, is urging the local officials to halt their support for the project and to side with the citizens who she says will be negatively impacted…

This hearing should be held in Allegany County. It impacts the residents of Allegany County and not Baltimore City.

Since the hearing will be held here I assume the PSC will follows different rules than if they held it in Baltimore. Idiots.

      > This hearing is for citizen participation; people will sign in and the list will be followed for the PSC Judge to hears comments. The hearing will be recorded and put into the case record for the PSC Commissioners to make a decision on the application –to deny or grant.

Why is a citizens group allowed to dictate how land owners can use and profit from their land? The wind company is not breaking any laws or ordinances. Stay out of other peoples business!

      > This project affects residents/land owners in five communities; noise, infra sound, and shadow flickers does not stop at the property boundary of the leased properties the turbines sit on. Our quality of life and health will be affect within 1 1/2 miles of the project. We have the right to defend our homes and the right to form a group to do so.
