Two National Parks in West Virginia will remain open despite the federal government shutdown. New River Gorge and Harpers Ferry National Parks will be open after Governor Patrick Morrisey signed a donation agreement with the government to keep the parks operational. The agreement guarantees two weeks of service and the parks should reopen in the next few days. Morrisey said tourism is essential to the state’s economy.
